Check out these new pics recently posted by petraalsbach on Flickr, of a house constructed with shipping containers in Wellington. Not a lot of other info seems to exist on the project but we hope you enjoy the photos!

Hi, This house is on Ohiro Rd in Brooklyn, Wellington I believe. I remember seeing it whilt kicking a ball around @ the park across the road and being rather intrigued as a first year Arch student.

Does anyone know where in Wellington this house is or where other container houses are?

Hi. Nick work! I built mine back in 2002. http://theyuenf-amilyblog.blogs-pot.com/2008/12-/containerhouse--revisited.html We should compare notes.

Hi, This house is a project by Wellington designer Ross Stephens. It started in 1990 as just the one container styled as an urban bach, or holiday home. He says he got a bit carried away, and is rather impressively done. He has built much of it himself. He lectures in design at Wellington's campus of Massey University and here is a link to his Massey biography. h-ttp://www.vuw.a-c.nz/DESIGN/sta-ff/stevens.html- Cheers B-ill O'Byrne
