The Corten steel shell of a new multi purpose studio was craned into the remains of a nineteenth century brick dovecote at Snape Maltings in Suffolk on the 18th May. Sited at the symbolic threshold of the maltings and the surrounding marshes, the monocoque welded steel box will be insulated and lined in plywood to serve as a music space, a visual art studio, a meeting room or residency space.
